Who’s up for an early Christmas gift?
⁣⁣
Now, it’s not a PS5 or anything, but if you’ve ever found Instagram and Facebook “Insights” to be less than insightful, this gift is for you. ⁣

And if you’re tired of spending hours tracking your likes, comments, shares, impressions and profile views, this gift is going to give you back your time and your sanity when it comes to knowing whether your social media presence is working for your business…or not.⁣

And here it is…

The Two Social Media Metrics That Ultimately Matter for Your Business

When it comes to measuring your social media performance, you don’t need to spend hours counting likes, comments, follows, shares, impressions, profile views and other metrics!

Instead, focus on the TWO metrics that ultimately matter the most to your business:

1. Your Engagement Rate

Your engagement rate measures how much your audience typically interacts with the content you post.

And it’s a key metric because it puts all those individual likes, comments, clicks, shares and reactions into PERSPECTIVE.

Getting 15 likes and 3 comments on a post is great…if you have less than 100 followers. ⁣

But if you have 1,000 followers and that’s what you’re getting, you’ve got some work to do…⁣

There are lots of ways to calculate your engagement rate, and the way you do it is not as important as choosing a method and sticking with it.

(Tip: The Phlanx.com engagement calculator for Instagram is a great free tool — give it a try!)

Engagement rate is by no means a perfect measurement — and you may have to do some experimenting to find the right formula for you — but it’s a great indicator of whether your content is relevant and engaging to your audience, and whether your current strategy is hitting the mark.

2. How Your Business Is Actually Doing

Are you attracting new customers, clients or leads? Are you making valuable connections in your community? Are your sales up? ⁣

You may have 50K followers, but if the answer to any of the above questions is no, chances are, your social media accounts could be serving you better. ⁣
